Mamma Mia! What a great night out!
Thank you HAZEL HOLLAND and the CWA ladies for a great night of entertainment! And PLEASE PLEASE can we have it again next year?
The open air screening of Mamma Mia on Saturday night was a big hit. Over a hundred people turned up to enjoy not only a very silly movie (with many laugh-out-loud moments) but also musical numbers sung by the group "Just Sing It" and vibrant belly dancing by Gypsy Rain.
Earlier in the day, with the huge downpour of rain we had, we thought that the event may have been cancelled. But it cleared up and we drove to Flying Fish Point CWA with our picnic and chairs to enjoy the show. As well as the free movie (on a huge screen thanks to Stratvell Film Society), singing & belly dancing, we were treated to free ice-cream and popcorn. There was food provided by Coconut Outriggers Club and a raffle during the interval with the first prize being a romantic night for two!
The only disappointment of the night for me was... the revelation that my favourite James Bond can't sing!! Pierce Brosnan can hold a tune, but, he loses all his suaveness and charm when he breaks out in song...
